After my recent post about calorie-laden kids’ meals at fast-food restaurants, my pals at Panera Bread got in touch to let me know that they had an alternative. If you’re not familiar with the bakery chain, they’re in at least 40 states and offer up yummy bread and a good place for lunch.
They also offer three kids meals items, all of which are served on whole grain bread, trans fat free, and 400 calories or fewer:
- Panera Kids Grilled Cheese Sandwich: 300 calories; 14 grams of protein
- Panera Kids Deli Sandwich – Smoked Turkey: 300 calories; 20 grams of protein
- Panera Kids Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich: 400 calories; 13 grams of protein
No time to put whip out the cutting board at home? They’re not a bad alternative.
