Harried parents, there is an answer to the age old question: What’s for dinner? Click ‘N Cook, a free online platform, provides simple, healthy recipes based on the ingredients you have on hand. With hundreds of recipes to choose from, Click ‘N Cook features tasty options for breakfast (French Toast Sticks), lunch (Tuna Melts), dinner (Microwave Lasagna Rolls), snacks (Date Yogurt Shakes) and desserts (Plum-Good Peanutter Bars) that kids will love. And so will you.
Here’s how it works. When you visit the Click ‘N Cook site, a list of more than 120 ingredients appears on the left side of the screen. With a click of your mouse, just check those you have in the fridge or pantry— no need for an extra trip to the grocery store— and in seconds you can create a meal with easy-to-follow instructions. Important nutrition information, including calories, protein, and dietary fiber is provided with each recipe. And Click ‘N Cook is updated regularly to include seasonal favorites.
Family-friendly recipes include Oven Crispy Chicken, Pizza Meatloaf, Magic Mashed Potatoes (a great way to get your kids to eat the secret ingredient, cauliflower) and Sweet Potato Biscuits. And for those with a more sophisticated palate, try Saint Kitts Vegetable Salad, Broccoli with Mustard Sauce, Citrus Broiled Salmon or Barley Pilaf.
Originally designed by The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) and its Registered Dietitians to help clients and hunger relief agencies create nutritious meals using the foods it provides, Click ‘N Cook is a great tool for anyone interested in preparing wholesome, hassle-free meals.
